About Us
Artifex is where design, story, and craftsmanship come together to create spaces that feel intentional and deeply personal. I started this work after years of watching leaders invest in their environments yet still feel like something was missing — the space looked fine, but it didn’t reflect who they were or what mattered most to them.
My name is Brooke DeBoer, and I guide every project with design expertise, thoughtful listening, and a steady commitment to understanding the people behind the walls. That combination shapes how I approach each space: not as a collection of finishes, but as an extension of your identity and the culture you’re building.

Pennell CPA | Grand Rapids
Complete cosmetic remodel of CPA office, approx. 5,000 SF. Created a client-first vibe complete with design around all five senses which incorporated their recent rebranding.
Downtown Market Grand Rapids
In Collaboration with
Design Plus Architects
Redesign of a high-traffic commercial market space, focusing on functional layouts, community engagement, and brand-forward design elements. The project included coordinated planning with multiple vendors to enhance flow, signage, and customer experience. Approximately 20,000SF
Haworth HR Offices | Holland, MI

GMB Architecture + Engineering
A full gut renovation of a 1980s Human Resources office, transformed to meet modern design standards. The space features adjustable-height stand-up desks for all employees, offering personalized workstations while maintaining an open, collaborative atmosphere. Approximately 10,000 SF.

Leading the interior design and project coordination for a full office renovation, creating a modern, functional environment that reflects the company’s craftsmanship and supports daily workflow. Scope includes space planning, finish and material direction, furniture and fixture recommendations, and collaboration with owners, architects, and contractors. Approximately 3,000SF
